Stamp Duty is a tax on documents which transfer Irish property, including Assignments of Irish patents, trade marks and registered designs ("Intellectual Property"). While stamp duty applies generally to Assignments of Irish Intellectual Property executed before 1 April 2004, under recent changes in Irish law, Assignments of Irish Intellectual Property executed on or after 1 April 2004 may be exempt from stamp duty depending on the circumstances.

Tomkins & Co. has assembled an information pack that summarizes the current situation regarding Stamp Duty all for such Assignments, and can be requested by sending an email to this address.
