Séamus holds a BA (Mod) in Medicinal Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin. Séamus' studies covered the traditional fields of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, and also placed particular emphasis on areas of pharmacology, biochemistry, microbiology and computational modelling relevant to drug design. He graduated in 2003, coming top of his class and was awarded the prestigious gold medal for his academic performance. Following his primary degree Séamus proceeded to research small molecule bifunctional organocatalysts and their application to asymmetric synthesis under the supervision of the School of Chemistry in Trinity College Dublin. His research was published in several distinguished peer reviewed journals, and his findings led him to deliver a number of presentations both in Ireland and abroad.

Séamus also read mathematics at Dublin Institute of Technology, and was conferred with a BSc in Mathematics in 2006. Séamus' background enables him to specialise in drafting and prosecuting patents in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and mathematics.
